BIO
Melanie McNulty is an award-nominated actor, writer, director, and acting coach based in Los Angeles. She has appeared in network television and films (Chicago Med (NBC), Rendezvous in Chicago, The West Virginian Starfish, Compartmentalization Storage Facility). As a voice actor, her credits include work for Smithsonian Magazine, Meibo Pharmaceuticals, and the Harris Walz Campaign.
Born in Chicago, Illinois to a second generation Greek-American mother, a Dental Hygienist, and a German-Irish-American father, an actor turned Kitchen + Bath Designer, she got her start in the Windy City as a young actress, working in local indie films, music videos, commercials and plays. One of her first professional jobs, a viral T-Mobile "Home For The Holidays" campaign, got her Taft-Hartley at only 17 years old. She went on to receive a B.A. in Theatre-Acting with minors in Dance and TV/Film from Indiana University-Bloomington and a certificate from the renowned Gaiety School of Acting-The National Theatre School of Ireland in Dublin.
As a seasoned stage performer, McNulty worked extensively in Chicago’s theatre scene, earning critical acclaim for roles in Title X (Artemisia Theatre), Constellations, and Digging Up Dessa (Theatre Above the Law). Her direction was also recognized by Chicago theatre’s prestigious Joseph Jefferson Awards, earning her a nomination for Best Director for Cry It Out (Theatre Above the Law), where she served as a company member from 2020 to 2024.
Beyond performance and directing, McNulty is a sought-after acting coach and teaching artist with over a decade of experience training actors. In addition to private coaching and consulting, she has taught at top institutions including Youth Academy of Dramatic Arts (YADA), Actors Training Center, Skyline Children’s Theater, Dovetail Studios, Emerald City Theatre, and more.
She is represented by Grossman & Jack Talent.

PREVIOUS WORK INCLUDES
Actors Training Center
Wilmette, IL
On camera acting can be a challenge for the young actor whose instinct is to “show” instead of “tell” when what casting is looking for is for actors to bring their authentic self to the work.
Actors Training Center in Wilmette gives a practical approach that will help students gain the confidence to say, “I am enough.” Train in ATC's professional studio, getting in front of the camera each week with commercial and film/TV copy and receive adjustments and notes after watching playback.
You can also coach with me for auditions or private lessons out of ATC's space. Reach out for more info!
Skyline Children's Theater
